Dear Agency Partner,
The Junior League of Springfield (JLS) is now accepting proposals for community projects from local not-for-profit agencies and organizations. Project funding and volunteer placement will be distributed during the JLS fiscal year, which runs June 2011 through May 2012.
JLS is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. In order to make a larger impact in the community, JLS has narrowed its focus to issues relating to Child Abuse and Neglect. All proposals submitted must directly impact the issue of Child Abuse and Neglect in our community.
The Project Review and Development Committee is looking for projects that request not only our funding, but our volunteers. Our volunteers make a difference in Springfield daily; they are well trained, committed and passionate about serving the community. While longer term projects may be considered again in the future, projects proposed for 2011-12 should be designed to utilize JLS volunteer services for one to three days.
In order to determine the suitability of a potential project, the Project Review and Development Committee will use the following criteria when evaluating the proposal:
• Community need and community impact
• Opportunity for JLS volunteer training, development and participation
• Available funds within JLS and the community
• Acknowledgement of JLS involvement in the project
• Serves our Child Abuse and Neglect focus
You will find a Request for Proposal on our website www.jlspringfield.org. Included in this RFP are the Junior League of Springfield’s goals and mission statement. Fifteen (15) copies of the completed grant proposal and grant budget, and (1) copy of the additional attachments are due to JLS Headquarters by noon on Wednesday, September 28th, 2010.
Please contact Katie Moore, Vice President of Community, at (417) 890-9800 or
Ashley French, Project Review and Development Chair, at (417) 862-8962 #141 with any questions.
Sincerely,
