JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SPRINGFIELD ANNOUNCES NEW OFFICERS FOR 2008-2009 LEAGUE YEAR

SPRINGFIELD, MO, July 16, 2008 –Linda McAllister has been elected as President of the Junior League of Springfield for the 2008-2009 League year. Linda epitomizes the mission of the Junior League of Springfield and has been an active volunteer in the Springfield community for many years, including 11 years as a member of the Junior League of Springfield. "I am excited to be leading the League as we roll into the 50th Anniversary of the Junior League and the 50th Anniversary of Charity Ball; we are looking forward to a wonderful year," said Linda.

The outstanding women who make up the remainder of the Junior League Executive Board are: Andrea McKinney, President Elect; Nancy Bolduc, Vice President of Membership; Sherry Hellweg, Recording Secretary; Michele Risdal-Barnes, Vice President of Community; Jill Baker, Vice President of Communication; and Christie Draper, Vice President of Finance.

This leadership will continue to guide the women of the Junior League into the community to make Springfield a better place to live. Over the past 50 years the Junior League of Springfield has been the founding agency for many projects with their most recent project celebrating its one year anniversary, Isabel's House, the Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks.

The Junior League of Springfield is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The Junior League of Springfield reaches out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to voluntarism.

Since 1959, the Junior League of Springfield has contributed over $4 Million Dollars and more than 1.25 million hours of volunteer service to the Springfield community.
