JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SPRINGFIELD PRESENTS THE 3RD ANNUAL PITTER PAT 5K RUN AND ONE MILE FUN RUN

The 3rd Annual Pitter Pat race benefits the Junior League of Springfield projects including the signature project; Isabel's House, Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks

SPRINGFIELD, MO January 30th, 2009 – The 3rd Annual Pitter Pat 5K/One Mile Fun Run will be held on Saturday, March 14th at the corner of Scenic and Bennett in Springfield. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. with the runs starting at 8:00 a.m. Individuals are $20 if pre-registered or $25 the day of the event. Families, which include two adults and up to three children, can register for $35. All proceeds benefit Junior League of Springfield projects including the signature project, Isabel's House, Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks. Isabel's House offers a home away from home for children 12 and under in the midst of a family crisis. A new contest has been added to this year's Pitter Pat event. The Junior League of Springfield will award prizes to the best dressed female, male and family who show up in an Irish inspired outfit.

Last year the Pitter Pat race proved to be a huge success. Over 330 participants registered for the race, which raised approximately $6,600 and lots of awareness.

Since 1959, the Junior League of Springfield has contributed over $4 Million Dollars and more than 1.25 million hours of volunteer service to the Springfield community. The JLS is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action of trained volunteers. Its purposes are exclusively educational and charitable.
