  • A crisis nursery is a respite crisis care emergency shelter which protects children by providing a safe environment at a time when the chances of abuse/neglect in the home are increased. Parents voluntarily request and arrange this service directly with the crisis nursery.
  • All parents are encouraged to utilize a range of support, counseling and referral services based on the crisis they are facing.
  • A crisis nursery is a proven child abuse prevention tool, and a recognized community need.
  • Nursery is established for those needing assistance due to life emergency (not for sick children who can't attend regular daycare). Must be dedicated to the at-risk child
  • Temporary respite care is provided for no longer than 30 days, 24/7 operation
  • Children birth to 12 years of age would be served
  • Must be a community collaborative with primary partners who lend funding assistance and in-kind services; and secondary partners with whom we will collaborate to deliver needed services to the families
  • Support to families for long-term strength and stability of family unit is a critical component, as well as immediate respite care
