How large is the JLS?
The JLS is comprised of almost 600 trained women volunteers.
If I have a full-time job, can I still volunteer?
Yes! Many JLS volunteers hold regular full-time jobs. The JLS has
volunteer activities available in the evenings and on weekends as well as
projects that take place during the day to accommodate today's varied
schedules.
What organizations benefit from your volunteers?
JLS runs many community projects
focused on benefiting children in our community. These programs maximize the
impact JLS volunteers have on improving the lives of people in the Ozarks
and were developed with the counsel of the JLS Community Advisory Council comprised of Community
Leaders.
JLS programs are staffed with our member volunteers and operate in
partnership with private and public agencies called
JLS Community Partners.
How does my support of the Junior League benefit the community?
Volunteer power enables the Junior League to offer so much more than
most grant making organizations. When a dollar is donated to the Junior
League, it is made stronger with the addition of trained volunteer hours to
provide a more meaningful impact to the community. The time donated by
trained JLS volunteers is often argued to be even more valuable than the
dollars awarded.
Why should I volunteer with the JLS versus other organizations?
Member volunteers speak of the meaningful impact they feel they have in the
community and their ability to contribute in a structured, well-organized
environment. Volunteers also benefit from
training in a variety of
educational and leadership programs.
