I joined JLS in 2013 and have served in a variety of roles:

Why You Joined JLS:

I joined JLS to meet people and find volunteer opportunities. I was new to Springfield and wanted to give back to our community and maybe make a new friend. I wasn’t looking for leadership training, but I have learned and grown so much as a leader and individual while in JLS. JLS has brought so many opportunities and friendships that have shaped my life for the past 8 years. Moving to a new town and starting a family is intimidating but JLS has given me a village of support I never expected. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t talk to a fellow JLS member or someone I have met through JLS. No joke.

Favorite JLS Event:

I always love our annual meeting in May. It is a celebration of the year and a time our entire membership comes together to celebrate the year’s successes and challenges. It is always an uplifting and fun celebration.

Favorite JLS Memory:

I have so many fond JLS memories I don’t even know where to start! From filling up every washer at once at the laundromat during my first DIAD to the five AJLI leadership conferences I’ve gotten to attend on behalf of JLS to participating in Leadership Springfield (Class 35!) as the JLS representative to the many many coffee dates, lunches and happy hours with the friends I’ve made, it is very difficult to pick just one!

Life Outside the League:

Outside of the League I work as a Paralegal for Jack Henry & Associates. I am married and have a rambunctious 2 year old daughter. I love to read, play golf, hike and spend time with family & friends. In addition to the Junior League board I also serve on the Girl Scouts of the Heartland Board of Directors and Missouri Paralegal Association board.
