The Junior League of Springfield (JLS) is an organization
of women committed to promoting voluntarism and to improving the community
through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is
exclusively educational and charitable.
Our strength is based on the nearly 600 women-of diverse
ages and backgrounds- working toward a common goal of positively impacting the
lives of children in the Springfield community. Experience in the JLS develops
the skills, commitment and leadership potential of women.
We strive to support deserving community projects with
financial assistance and trained volunteer members. Funding of our community
projects is accomplished through generous donations and sponsorships as well as JLS fundraising event proceeds.
JLS has contributed over 1.2 million volunteer service
hours and over $2 million to the community. On average, our members donate over
20,000 hours of volunteer service annually to the community.
